In brief the development will comprise:-

hours of operation  — Monday  Friday 8.30  6pm

• expected trips of car  –  4 on site max at any one time (one per therapist and 1 per client)
• consultants  – 2 full time equivalent (now only 16 hours equivalent being used per week )
• number of clients at any one time  – 2 clients maximum at any one time.

The Applicant says:

1. We provide Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy and child physiotherapy to children with Special Needs. The reason we started using the house in Rototuna  – was that  a lot of the children that we saw came from that area and parents were travelling a long distance out of the area to access our service.  Using the house provides families with services in their neighbourhood and reduces the need for  parents to travel especially with children with Special Needs. We teach children to talk, walk, eat etc.
2. The rooms will only be used by mainly  Speech therapists and currently only being used by two people for a total of 16 hours a week. This is by appointment only and generally after school hours. At any one time there will only be two therapists maximum using the rooms.
3. The rest of the people who are part of the Therapy are not employed — they are all self employed contractors and do not work from the rooms. They all go directly to the clients or schools that we contract to.
4. The admin person works from her home.
5. There will be a maximum of two therapist cars and two client cars at any one time. Most of the time it’s just one therapist with one client.
